Special Wine Tasting from Cotnari Winery

Casa de Vinuri Cotnari is a winery located in the Cotnari region of Romania. The winery is known for producing high-quality wines using traditional methods and local grape varieties.

The Cotnari region is known for its white wines, particularly those made from the Grasa de Cotnari grape variety. The Grasa de Cotnari grape is indigenous to the region and is known for its high acidity and floral aromas. The wines made from Grasa de Cotnari are typically dry and have flavors of green apples, pears, and honey. They are often aged in oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth to the wine.

In addition to Grasa de Cotnari, the Cotnari region is also known for producing sweet dessert wines made using the “noble rot” method. These wines are made from the Fetească Albă grape variety and are rich and luscious, with flavours of apricots, peaches, and honey.

Cotnari Winery produces a range of wines made from both Grasa de Cotnari and Fetească Albă, as well as other grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling. The winery is known for its commitment to producing high-quality wines using traditional winemaking techniques and local grape varieties.

If you’re a fan of white wines and are looking to try something new, consider giving the wines of Casa de Vinuri Cotnari a try.

Thanks to brand ambassador Daniel Vranescu, we were lucky enough to taste some fantastic wines. For the launch of Naiv’s new gourmet hospitality line, the wine tasting consisted of Spumant Colocviu Vibe Frâncușă, Spumant Millesime Frâncușă 2016 (matured on yeasts for 61 months), Naiv Tămâioasă Românească 2021, Naiv Grasă de Cotnari 2021, Naiv Busuioacă de Bohotin 2021, Naiv Fetească Neagră 2021, and old winery collection wine Grasă de Cotnari 1989 (sweet).

According to Mr Vranescu: ”A range for Hospitality Industry, featuring a collection of premium gourmet wines including Tămâioasă, Grasă de Cotnari, Busuioacă de Bohotin, and Fetească Neagră. The Naiv line, created by George Moisescu, the mastermind behind the brand, pays homage to naive art, as reflected in its unique label design”.

We can honestly say that the wine tasting at Top Drinks was a true feast for the senses. It was truly sublime.
