Fairytale vacation

„It is not more vacation we need – it is more vocation.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Perhaps some prefer the sea or the endless madness of our seaside resorts. Others prefer to spend their holiday outside the country, fly to exotic places or choose the beaches of Greece, Italy or Spain. I prefer to spend my holidays in our country. Yes, it might seem boring, but when you do what you like, there is nothing more beautiful. In addition, our country has destinations worth exploring, of course it depends on what you want to do on your vacation.

„We are all mortal until the first kiss and the second glass of wine.” – Eduardo Galeano

After a year full of decisive moments I managed to go on vacation in August and enjoy absolutely special moments in the place that has stayed in my heart since last year and where I will always come back with pleasure. A special place, which will surely become a reference point in the field of wine tourism. I spent a few wonderful days that passed so quickly that I did not even have time to get used to the holiday idea. And now if I close my eyes I can see myself again on the terrace at Vinalia – Conacul din Ceptura where I enjoy a good glass of wine along with the best dishes. In front of me lies the vineyard and I feel fulfilled.

My favorite place for a quiet holiday is Vinalia – Conacul din Ceptura. Here time stops and lets you enjoy every moment, every glass of wine, because here the wine relaxes you and challenges you to discover it. We have been very happy to meet Mr. Tiberiu Bardan again, who is the owner and the soul of this wonderful place and to have a glass of wine together. The sun in this region of Romania accompanies you throughout the day. And in the midday at the pool, a glass of a cold white or rosé wine is a must.

This year we have tasted a Sauvignon Blanc from 2017, with a special, intense floral note but with a strong and well-balanced taste. I found a well-shaped aroma, perfectly for any moment of the day. The same can be said about rosé wine. I am, of course, passionate about rosé wines and I always want to discover the story behind the wine. I found a fine and colorful wine with subtle notes of red fruit, intense and balanced, perfect for hot summer days, but also for cool evenings. My favorite is, of course, Feteasca Neagra (Romanian grape type) and I chose this year to taste the one from 2014, with a consistent bouquet and intense notes of dried fruit. A beautiful, ruby color, a soft but strong wine with a well-structured acidity.

Personally, I do not recommend wine associations with certain dishes, I think everyone has to make this individual choice. Of course, it’s important to know how you can associate wines, but when it comes to taste, I focus on my personal experience. Food, like wine, is superlative at Vinalia, I found dishes for all tastes, and if I did not know what to choose for a snack or a dinner I was always surprised by the staff with something absolutely extraordinary. I say that people are very important in one place, and here everybody who puts their heart in daily work and always smiles every morning can make your day more beautiful. I will keep the evening stories in my mind and look forward coming back next year. Who knows, maybe I will not wait until August.

I could tell about this wonderful place and endlessly about wines. I would like to be there now and enjoy every moment of the day with good wine. Vinalia – Conacul din Ceptura is without a doubt a charming place that transposes you into an oasis of dreams, it lets you lose yourself in the mystery of good wines and challenges you to come back.
