Does Slovakia Produce Wine?

If you’re a wine lover, you’re probably always on the lookout for new and exciting regions to explore and while you may have heard of French, Italian, and Spanish wines, there are plenty of lesser-known areas producing delicious and unique wines. One such region is Slovakia.

Slovakia is often overshadowed by its more famous Bohemian neighbors, Austria and Hungary. And while Hungary is known for its Tokaji wines, many people are surprised to learn that the Tokaj wine region also includes a part in the southeast of Slovakia. With its 908 hectares, it is the smallest of Slovakia’s six wine-growing regions, but don’t let its size fool you. The wines produced here are nothing short of exceptional.
