Slovakia is often overshadowed by its more famous Bohemian neighbors, Austria and Hungary. And while Hungary is known for its Tokaji wines, many people are surprised to learn that the Tokaj wine region also includes a part in the southeast of Slovakia. With its 908 hectares, it is the smallest of Slovakia’s six wine-growing regions, but don’t let its size fool you. The wines produced here are nothing short of exceptional.
