UNTOLD UNIVERSE Signs Protocol with Bucharest City Hall for Capital’s First Mega Festival
The creators of UNTOLD and NEVERSEA, two of the world’s most acclaimed festival brands, have officially announced a groundbreaking new project set to debut in Bucharest. Starting in 2025, Romania’s capital will host a large-scale music festival under the UNTOLD UNIVERSE umbrella, made possible through a strategic partnership with the Bucharest City Hall, led by Mayor Nicușor Dadfcr5tn.
A Pilot Edition in 2025
Organizers plan to launch a pilot edition of the new festival as early as this summer at the National Arena. Drawing on over a decade of international and local festival expertise, UNTOLD UNIVERSE promises to deliver an extraordinary entertainment experience. The project aims to grow annually and position Bucharest as a new landmark on the global entertainment map.
In the coming months, organizers will reveal more details, including the festival’s name, exact dates, and the lineup of international artists.
Years in the Making
The concept for a major festival in Bucharest has been under discussion for several years. During this time, the UNTOLD team held multiple meetings with Mayor Nicușor Dan to identify the best framework for such a significant event. These discussions culminated in the signing of a multi-year collaboration protocol that will see UNTOLD UNIVERSE independently funding and developing a concept designed to grow into a top-tier Eastern European attraction.
Statements from the Organizers
“The festival we’re launching this year at the National Arena will uphold the high standards fans and partners have come to expect from UNTOLD over the past 10+ years. Not only will it meet all regulatory requirements, but it will also contribute significantly to Bucharest’s economy through taxes and business opportunities generated around the festival ecosystem,” said Bogdan Buta, Founder & CEO of UNTOLD UNIVERSE.
“We’re excited that after many discussions with Mayor Nicușor Dan and his team, we can finally confirm this long-awaited project in Bucharest. We plan to host the first edition this summer, even if it presents challenges, because we want to learn firsthand what festival lovers in the capital are truly looking for. With everything we learn this year, and our experience from Romania and Dubai, we’re confident this festival will grow edition after edition and become a source of pride for the city,” added Edy Chereji, Co-Founder & Chief of Public Affairs at UNTOLD UNIVERSE.
A Boost for Bucharest
“Hosting a festival of this magnitude in Bucharest is an extraordinary opportunity for the city, both economically and culturally. Such an event will attract tens of thousands of visitors from across the country and abroad, benefiting the HoReCa, transport, retail, and service industries. We want Bucharest to become a cultural and entertainment hub in the region, and this partnership brings us one step closer. Major European capitals have proven how impactful festivals can be for city branding and tourism development,” stated Nicușor Dan, Mayor of Bucharest.
This new festival marks UNTOLD UNIVERSE’s first major event in the Romanian capital, launching alongside the 10th anniversary edition of UNTOLD in Cluj-Napoca and the second edition of UNTOLD Dubai, the largest festival ever organized in the United Arab Emirates.
