The Cure and Twenty One Pilots to Headline Electric Castle 2026
Electric Castle has announced its headliners for the summer of 2026: Twenty One Pilots and The Cure are confirmed for the edition taking place between July 16–19, at Bonțida. Passes are now available on electriccastle.ro at special prices until Thursday, October 16.
In the history of rock music, few bands have moved as naturally between psychedelic tracks like Caterpillar, alt-rock hits like Just Like Heaven, post-punk anthems such as A Forest, or pop-infused songs like Friday I’m in Love. The Cure are simply The Cure — instantly recognizable from the first guitar chords of every song and unique in their understated approach to fame and chart success.
Since their formation in 1978, The Cure have alternated between prolific creative bursts and long breaks — including a nearly 16-year gap between albums. Their discography now includes 14 albums, with the latest, Songs of a Lost World, topping critics’ lists in 2024. In an age of short-lived hits and rapid consumption, the band returned with long, poetic, and deeply emotional songs — a gift for longtime fans that unexpectedly resonated with a new generation. Young stars like Yungblud, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gracie Abrams have cited the “veterans,” inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, as major influences.
“We’re not trendy. We’re permanent.” — Robert Smith’s iconic statement perfectly sums up The Cure’s timeless legacy and their ability to win over new fans with every live performance, including next July at Electric Castle 2026.
As for Twenty One Pilots, they already know what to expect from Electric Castle fans: a wild atmosphere, singing from the very first note, and dancing until the final encore — just like in 2022, when they performed at Bonțida for the first time and left behind one of the festival’s most memorable shows.
From their indie beginnings, Twenty One Pilots have evolved into global superstars, blending alternative rock, hip-hop, and pop in a fluid and genre-bending style. They became the first band in history to have every song from two albums (Blurryface and Vessel) certified RIAA Gold, a Guinness World Record achievement. With Grammy, AMA, and MTV Awards and 12 No. 1 singles on Alternative Airplay, the duo’s success story is already legendary.
Still, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun continue to reinvent themselves. Since their last show at Electric Castle, they’ve released two new albums — Clancy (2024) and Breach (2025). Though their sound has evolved, their lyrics remain deeply personal, proving that in 2025, rock stars can be vulnerable and introspective — even while selling 65,000 tickets per concert. Their performance at Electric Castle will be one of their final shows in Europe before continuing their world tour across other continents through 2029.
Fans eager not to miss these two incredible performances can still grab passes at special early-bird prices until October 16, midnight.
