Alba Iulia to Host “The Table That Unites” – A Guinness World Record Attempt

On September 13, 2025, the historic city of Alba Iulia will host one of the most ambitious community events ever organized in Romania: “The Table That Unites”. With a 2.7-kilometer table built entirely from recyclable materials, placed around the iconic Alba Carolina Citadel, organizers hope to set a Guinness World Record for the longest recycled-material table in the world.

More than 10,000 participants are expected to sit together, sharing food, music, and culture, while another 1,000 people will support the event’s organization. Beyond the sheer scale, the initiative emphasizes solidarity, sustainability, and Romanian tradition.

A Historic Community Gathering

The event is part of a series of unique community feasts organized by Bloom The World, which has previously staged similar experiences in extraordinary locations such as Meziad Cave and Muntele Mic in the Retezat Mountains. Each edition highlights Romanian heritage, local gastronomy, and the power of togetherness.

We want to put Alba Iulia on the world map,” says Alexa Vîlcan, CEO of Bloom The World. “This city represents unity in Romania’s history, and it’s the perfect place to bring thousands of people together. Creating such an event at home, in my birthplace, is about honoring memories, celebrating the present, and inspiring the future.”

“The Table That Unites” in Numbers

The figures behind this initiative are as impressive as the vision:

  • 2.7 km of table built with 1,500 europallets and 2,700 doka panels, transported by 10 trucks.

  • 5.4 km of benches and chairs for seating.

  • 10,000 ceramic plates, custom-made from recycled materials by Apulum Factory.

  • 10,000 flowers for decoration and 4,000 vases.

  • 5 tons of food and 5,000 liters of water for guests.

  • Contributions from over 40 major companies and 1,000 volunteers of all ages.

From bread by Vel Pitar and dairy products by Albalact and Zuzu, to 20,000 desserts provided by Kaufland Romania, the event is a true collective effort of businesses, volunteers, and institutions.

A Celebration of Culture and Tradition

More than a record attempt, the day promises to be a cultural festival. Visitors will enjoy:

  • Live concerts, including a headline show by The Motans.

  • Folkloric performances, including the renowned Tulnicăresele Moțate.

  • Reenactments of Dacians and Romans, connecting the citadel’s history to its present.

  • Creative workshops and play zones for children.

It’s not just about kilometers of tables,” explains Ovidiu Neamțu, founder of 11even Association. “It’s about a community that chooses to sit together, to share the same energy and the same joy. This is the kind of moment that remains in people’s hearts long after the event.”

A Global Message from Romania

With the support of organizers Bloom The World, Magic Maker Communication, 11even Association, AVA Smart Events, and Vânzător de Idei, alongside the Alba Iulia City Hall, the event is set to become a milestone for Romania’s image abroad.

“Through this project, Romania shows the world its creativity, its community spirit, and its ability to dream big,” adds Mădălin Nițis, General Manager at Magic Maker Communication.

Final Thought

“The Table That Unites” is more than an attempt to break a world record—it is a celebration of unity, tradition, and sustainability. In Alba Iulia, the city of union, thousands of people will sit side by side, proving that when communities come together, they can create history.
