Electric Castle 2026 Begins with Teddy Swims, The Cure, twenty one pilots, Chase & Status, and Wet Leg
Electric Castle 2026 officially kicks off today, with the festival’s 12th edition promising an unforgettable mix of world-class artists and unique experiences. Nearly 21,000 festivalgoers chose not to wait for the official opening, spending their first night at the festival campsite.
Wednesday’s Sleepover Party marked the annual reunion of Electric Castle’s most dedicated fans and welcomed back Wilkinson, who returned to the festival after 12 years. The British producer, whose popularity in Romania has been closely tied to the Electric Castle community, delivered a special performance for campers.
The majority of attendees are expected to arrive in Bonțida today. Thanks to an initiative supported by Banca Transilvania, in partnership with the Cluj-Napoca City Hall, all festival wristband holders benefit from free travel on the city’s public transport network. To reach the festival from Cluj-Napoca, participants can choose between trains and dedicated festival buses, with ticket prices starting at 7 RON for CFR trains and 19 RON for the EC Bus.
With more than 200 artists performing across 10 stages, Electric Castle once again embraces every corner of the music spectrum. Thursday’s opening day blends rock, punk, hip-hop, and dubstep into a lineup designed to set the tone for the weekend.
Among the most anticipated performances are Balu Brigada, the fast-rising indie band from New Zealand, the politically outspoken hip-hop trio Kneecap, and Sleaford Mods, whose distinctive take on punk continues to redefine the genre.
Festival organizers have also prepared a special surprise: Freestylers, the pioneers who helped bring bass music from the underground into the mainstream, will make a guest appearance during the Dub Pistols show before performing their own late-night set on The Beach Stage.
From today through Sunday night, each day of Electric Castle 2026 will feature a different headliner, a new story, and another reason why hundreds of thousands of fans return to Bonțida year after year.
