From Cashless Payments to the EC Train: Your Electric Castle 2026 Preparation Guide
The first bass drop, the first sunset at the campsite, the first photo with the iconic duck or the castle letters—Electric Castle wants to make sure none of these moments are delayed by practical details. That’s why the organizers have put together a short checklist to help festivalgoers prepare for the 12th edition of Electric Castle at the Banffy Estate in Bonțida.
Festival Wristbands and Transport Tickets Are Already Available
Picking up your festival wristband in advance will save valuable time at the entrance. There are seven collection points in Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest, plus the option to have your wristband delivered through Wolt.
Participants are also encouraged to activate and top up their cashless account online before arriving. Electric Castle remains a fully cashless festival, meaning that all purchases inside the festival and in EC Village can only be made using the festival wristband. Top-up stations accepting both cards and cash will also be available on-site.
Choose the EC Train or Festival Buses
Organizers recommend avoiding personal cars and instead using the dedicated festival transport options.
The EC Train remains the fastest way to travel from Cluj-Napoca to the festival, with a journey of approximately 40 minutes.
Festivalgoers can also use regular Romanian Railways (CFR) services, as all trains passing through Bonțida Station between July 15–19 will make a stop there. While this is the most affordable option, attendees should factor in the walk from the station to the festival grounds.
Dedicated EC buses will operate 24/7 between Cluj-Napoca and the festival throughout the event, with ticket prices varying depending on departure time. Tickets are already available online.
EC Village Opens with a Pre-Festival Party
The EC Village campsite opens on July 15 at 12:00 PM, and the first evening will feature the traditional Sleepover Party with Wilkinson and Partiboi69. Entry is free for anyone holding a valid festival wristband.
Whether staying in EC Village or elsewhere, attendees are encouraged to prepare for all types of weather. Previous editions have shown that Bonțida can experience high temperatures, rain, and cool nights all in the same day.
Organizers also remind participants that certain items are not permitted inside the festival or campsite, including reusable glass or metal containers, alcohol brought from outside, drones, weapons, and large sound systems.
Numbers Worth Saving
For safety-related issues, festivalgoers can call the Safety Line at +40 741 069 443. The team is directly connected with festival security staff and local authorities.
Electric Castle also continues its partnership with paginadepsihologie.ro, providing an on-site team of psychologists for situations requiring professional support.
For transport-related questions, attendees can contact the organizers at +40 752 653 049 or use the dedicated WhatsApp support chat.
New Features in the EC App
The Electric Castle app comes with several new features for the 2026 edition. In addition to helping users organize their festival schedule and receive real-time updates, the app will allow attendees to create their own personalized festival movie and save newly discovered artists to revisit after the event.
