UNTOLD 2023: Music, Magic, and Memorable Moments

Over 420,000 fans celebrated for four days and four nights. The eighth chapter of the magical UNTOLD story.

Music can do what words cannot. The last day of the UNTOLD festival was another memorable day for the over 100,000 fans who were invited to discover the UNTOLD Universe and blend the real with the imaginary.

200 FANS CLIMBED ON STAGE WITH ARMIN VAN BUUREN

The eighth edition of the festival wouldn’t have been legendary without one of the most beloved DJs, who has been here since the first edition in 2015, that’s Armin van Buuren, one of the most anticipated DJs in the UNTOLD story.

Armin came back home, where he was awaited by tens of thousands of fans who stood by him until sunrise. For 5 hours, UNTOLD fans enjoyed a spectacular live set. Sam Martin, a Grammy award winner, was one of the surprises prepared by Armin for the festival fans. The American artist performed live “My Wild Wild Son,” “Miles Away,” and “Mask.” A perfect voice from another world, a DJ who reinvents himself every time, were the perfect ingredients for a journey through the world of electronic sound. The Dutchman, who has been in the top five DJs in the world for 21 consecutive years, managed to build a special relationship with UNTOLD festival fans every time he performed live at Cluj-Arena, trying to offer them unique moments. This was also true for the last night of the UNTOLD festival.

Israeli artist Noa Zulu seems like an unreal presence, perhaps due to the instrument that made her famous, the didgeridoo, a musical instrument whose sound is produced by circular breathing technique. This technique allows her to generate resonant sounds, and Cluj-Arena experienced a premiere audio experience, a combination of psy-trance and this unique instrument, the didgeridoo. An exclusive version for the success of “The Tribe” was another gift offered by Armin van Buuren and his guest Noa Zulu.

Over 200 fans of the Dutch DJ had the privilege of being on the UNTOLD mainstage throughout the entire set. There was excitement, joy, and ecstatic dancing from the first to the last beat. Armin van Buuren came to Romania accompanied by his wife Erika.

The last night of the UNTOLD festival was dedicated to the biggest names in the electronic music industry. One of the world’s greatest DJs, the creator of the FUTURE RAVE style, Frenchman David Guetta, amazed his fans from over 100 countries with an incredible show full of emotion, during which he expressed his gratitude for the moment he was experiencing on the UNTOLD festival mainstage.

“It’s incredible! I’ve been here since the first edition, I was impressed, but today I’m living this beautiful frenzy with you! UNTOLD has grown so much. I love you, I appreciate you, and I thank you for being with me tonight,” said Guetta, visibly moved.

For 60 minutes, the tens of thousands of fans at Cluj-Arena were in a carousel of sounds, from classic productions (“Love Is Gone,” “I Got A Feeling,” “Titanium”) to the newest songs released with the FUTURE RAVE project, “Something To Hold On To,” “Lost in The Rhythm,” “Permanence,” or “You Can’t Change Me,” generating total euphoria and conveying the Frenchman’s love for music and UNTOLD fans.

American artist FERG was one of the first-time artists in Romania, keeping UNTOLD fans on Cluj-Arena despite the weather warnings. It rained, and UNTOLD fans danced in the rain.

“This is the biggest festival I’ve been to so far. Romania, you’re incredible! UNTOLD, keep doing what you know how to do, I’ve learned a lot from you tonight. Thank you!” said FERG, who went down among the fans to personally thank them for being there.

Olly Alexander from Years & Years visited UNTOLD for the first time and greeted his fans in Romanian: “Good evening, Cluj! I love you and thank you!” With incredible energy, the British artist invited his fans to sing together the hits of the Years & Years band, “Take Shelter,” “King,” “Desire,” as well as the songs included in the newest album, “Night Call.”
One of the DJs who was part of the lineup on the last day, Fedde Le Grand, came to UNTOLD with his wife. The Dutchman made an emotional confession: “Every time I come to UNTOLD, I enjoy this unique connection. This makes the festival truly extraordinary.”

Each of the four days of the UNTOLD festival was extraordinary for the fans who enjoyed every artist on the mainstage. It was a UNTOLD like no other before.

The live show of the Imagine Dragons band, the most anticipated moment of this year’s UNTOLD festival edition, was from a different dimension. It was a journey into a world where the only thing that mattered was the connection between people, music, and emotion.

In that created world, all barriers between artist and audience disappeared. The members of the Imagine Dragons band gave their all on stage, and the impressive voice of Dan Reynolds brought emotion and authenticity to every song performed. Tens of thousands of voices joined the band, and the moment was truly magical.

There was emotion in the audience, but also on stage. Dan Reynolds, the lead singer of the Imagine Dragons band, was overwhelmed by the energy of UNTOLD fans, and he bowed before them: “We love you! Thank you for this moment and for being together. The only thing that matters is love, and you have given it to us!”

The live show of the American artist Bebe Rexha was one of the premieres offered by the creators of UNTOLD to the festival fans. Nominated for three Grammy awards, appreciated for her powerful voice and originality in music, Bebe Rexha thanked the fans for the way she was received at Cluj-Arena. “I am so far from my home, but to be here, now, is a joy. I love you, and I am so happy to be together!”

The official opening ceremony of the UNTOLD festival provided fans with a special show by the DJ ranked 4th in the DJ Mag Top 100, Alok. “The DJs are the last attraction of the UNTOLD festival, the biggest attraction is the fans,” declared the Brazilian. With an energetic live set, Alok took the festival fun to another level.

The world’s number 1 DJ, Martin Garrix, generated enormous excitement at Cluj-Arena. The live set of the Dutchman was pure energy from the beginning to the end. With remix versions specially created for the UNTOLD show or with new productions, Garrix thanked his fans in Romania.
