Final Day of EC 2025 Brings Boombastic Surprises and First Passes for EC 2026
The last day of Electric Castle 2025 is lived to the fullest—right up to the very last second. Festivalgoers might need at least another week to burn off all the energy sparked by Yungblud’s explosive performance, which can officially be called the highlight of the festival’s 11th edition.
Mr. Boombastic, aka Shaggy, is ready to prove that there are no limits when it comes to dancing. But the evening’s big surprise is Taraphonics, a musical project marking a first in Romanian music. Also, starting today, the first passes for EC 2026 are on sale at a special early bird price.
The most dedicated fans started gathering at the main stage as early as 6:00 PM, making sure they’d be as close as possible to their idol, Yungblud. And it was absolutely worth it—because the British artist delivered a full show experience: great music, raw energy, and lots and lots of love.
“Romania, I love you!” was his repeated shout-out of the night, although the crowd only needed one minute into his performance to feel that he was there to give them everything he had.
And since good friends stick around after the show, Yungblud stayed in the crowd with festivalgoers to watch Justice, the French duo and recent Grammy winners, known for putting on one of the best electronic music shows in the world right now.
With Justice, Rudimental, Joey Valence & Brae, Brutalismus 3000, and many more artists from across the musical spectrum on the lineup, the day’s attendance at Banffy Castle reached 63,000 people.
The main stage on this final day opens with Taraphonics, an ambitious project created by the Electric Castle team. Featuring 18 musicians, including legends of Romanian lăutărească music like Nicoleta Tudorache, Mioara de la Vărbilău, Sorin Necunoscutu, and Emil Poke, with vocal guests like Dora Gaitanovici, Paulina, Elena Gheorghe, Eugenia Nicolae, and Macanache, the project brings together musical styles that, in theory, have very little in common—but in practice, create something entirely unique.
What does it take to stay relevant in dancehall music for three decades? Shaggy will answer that question on Sunday as he celebrates 30 years since the release of “Mr. Boombastic” with EC fans. Also on the setlist: classics like It Wasn’t Me and Oh, Carolina—songs that still enjoy radio airplay worldwide and rack up millions of streams.
Other must-see acts today include the return of Noga Erez, Neil Frances, Sylvie Kreusch, and the Chroma show by Bicep.
A limited number of passes for the 2026 edition of Electric Castle are now on sale starting at €109 + fees at www.electriccastle.ro. All available ticket types and details can be found on the official festival website.
