J. Balvin The King Of Reggaeton, Coming To The Untold Festival Stage This Summer

The artist’s track record is impressive: he’s a three-time Grammy winner, the man behind the most-watched Latin artist video of all time on YouTube and one of the most listened to artists on the planet.
Less than two months before Europe’s most anticipated music festival, UNTOLD, organisers are bringing in a big name from the international music scene, Colombian artist J BALVIN. His songs have billions of views on all music platforms, and this summer, hits like Tranquilla, Mi gente, Ay Vamos and many more will be heard live at the Cluj Arena stadium, home of the UNTOLD festival.
J BALVIN is a global icon, an artist who has made a unique contribution to the promotion of Latin culture in a way that no one else has done before.
He grew up listening to Metallica and Nirvana, and his passion for reggaeton came after discovering Daddy Yankee. At the age of 19, together with his good friend David Rivera Mazo, J Balvin started singing on the streets of Medellin, and in 2009 he signed his first contract with EMI Colombia, with whom he released the single “Ella Me Cautivo”. It was the moment when J Balvin became visible, and from that point on he had an incredible international career. “Ay Vamos” is the song that won him his first Latin Grammy Award in the Best Urban Song category, with the official video for the song being named the most watched video by a Latin artist of all time with over 1.8 billion views. The year 2015 brought him four awards in the most important categories at Premios Lo Nuestro and three Billboard Latin Music Awards trophies. The artist has had major collaborations throughout his career, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, Black Eyed Peas, Ed Sheeran, Rosalia and many more.

J Balvin was the first Latin artist to receive the Diamond Disc for record sales. In 2017, the Medellin-based artist released one of the biggest hits in reggaeton history; the single “Mi Gente” was No. 1 on the Spotify Global chart, the official music video of the song surpassed 3 billion views on the YouTube platform.

The 34-tattooed “Boy from Medellin” is also involved in the campaign against violence against women, fights for the cause of immigrants and is considered the artist with the most important contribution to the promotion of Latin music, being dubbed “The Prince of Modern Reggaeton”.
