John Summit and Paul Kalkbrenner Headline Neversea Kapital 2025 in Bucharest
JOHN SUMMIT, THE PHENOMENAL DJ OF THE MOMENT, TAKES THE STAGE AT BUCHAREST’S BIGGEST FESTIVAL, NEVERSEA KAPITAL
ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS LIVE ELECTRONIC MUSIC ARTISTS, PAUL KALKBRENNER, JOINS THE NEVERSEA KAPITAL LINEUP
The organizers of Neversea Kapital, the biggest festival in Bucharest, have announced two legendary names completing the lineup for the first edition of the festival: house superstar John Summit from the United States, and melodic techno genius Paul Kalkbrenner from Germany.
Recognized by Rolling Stone as “The Hottest Name in Dance Music” and described by Variety as “One of EDM’s Biggest Rising Stars,” John Summit is considered the new “must-have” in the lineup of the world’s biggest festivals.
His track “Deep End” (2020) was the most streamed house single of that year across digital platforms and quickly propelled him into international charts. By 2025, John Summit’s tracks have surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.
In the summer of 2024, John Summit hit a milestone in his career: a sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden in New York. Tickets sold out in record time, and Summit described the show as “the most important moment in my artistic life so far.”
This year, during Super Bowl Weekend in New Orleans, John Summit and Dom Dolla set an attendance record and had a special guest: Apple CEO Tim Cook.
The American DJ has had sold-out shows in major clubs in Ibiza, Miami, and Las Vegas, performed on the main stages of top festivals like Coachella, Ultra, and Creamfields, and was invited to perform at Anyma’s sold-out shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
He’s collaborated with Green Velvet—a now-classic act on the EDC and ARC Festival Chicago circuit—and formed a unique duo with his friend Dom Dolla, called “Everything Always.” He’s also played legendary sets at Red Rocks.
In July 2024, he released his debut album, “Comfort in Chaos,” which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart and has over 454 million streams. The album confirmed that Summit is not just a hitmaker but a well-rounded artist.
Although a relatively new presence on the international scene, John Summit is now one of the most influential artists in the electronic dance music industry.
Known as one of the most respected live electronic music artists, Paul Kalkbrenner has redefined the techno sound.
Born in Berlin, Kalkbrenner made his mark in the 2000s with a style that defies convention: he doesn’t mix tracks but performs them live, using hardware and software to create a unique experience every time.
His 2008 album “Berlin Calling” catapulted him from the underground scene to global recognition. The track “Sky and Sand”, a collaboration with his brother Fritz, became a techno anthem and remained in the charts for over two years.
His productions have now surpassed 1.18 billion streams on Spotify.
Paul Kalkbrenner has headlined the main stage at some of the world’s biggest festivals: UNTOLD, Tomorrowland, Sónar, and Coachella. In 2014, he performed a memorable show in front of hundreds of thousands at the Brandenburg Gate to mark 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Envisioned as a top-tier urban experience, Neversea Kapital aims to transform National Arena in Bucharest into a hub of music, technology, and live entertainment.
This year’s lineup brings together some of the biggest names in both mainstream and underground culture:
Axwell, Lost Frequencies, Salvatore Ganacci, Alok, KSHMR, Don Diablo, Steve Aoki, Claptone, Charlotte De Witte, Nina Kraviz, Deborah De Luca, MAU P, Korolova, and many others.
Organizers will announce more names soon.
The first edition takes place July 4–6, 2025, and passes are available at www.neversea.com.
